The Elms Mount Merrion - Tree Management Review

The Elms is a gated development on Mount Merrion, Blackrock. Tree-Space was contracted to undertake an arboricultural assessment of their tree population. In total 164 trees were surveyed, and 34 different species identified. The most common species on the site was sycamore with ash and silver birch second and third. 53% of the surveyed trees were in the semi-mature to early mature life stage, the other 47% were mature to late mature with one veteran recorded. The age class dynamics on the site were considered healthy. There were a number of impressive open grown trees on the site, notably a London plane estimated to be 180yrs old and a Cedar of Lebanon. Tree safety, tree structure, aesthetics, and tree health were addressed throughout the site.
